Would you rather us be alone in the universe or there to be other species?

Both are equally terrifying."-Arthur C Clark I asked this question to see people's views on this subject, I just want to know which one people would preffer. Personally Im not to sure about this, But i sway more to the idea of us being alone as well humans haven't had a good history of coming in contact with new civilizations and that could probably cause us to end up straying something we shouldn't if we were ever to come in contact with an alien species.
