What is the point of smoking cigarettes?

I dont get it; I smoke marijuana but thats because it has "side effects" to it. I feel like cigarettes are really useless to smoke, me being a weed smoker, I technically dont really know anything about cigs. Are cigarettes only just to "blow smoke".
