Editing software like Windows Movie Maker?

I'm really looking for a FREE editing software, i can download and use with no problems. My requirements are, it has to be like Windows Movie Maker, but it HAS to support Gifs. I have no problem with using Windows Movie Maker but because it can't support gifs, i'm unable to do the project i'm meant to be doing? Can somebody recommend some (once again, free) software for me to use, that support gifs?
