can someone give me help/advice please?

So i've finally decided what guitar i want but im gonna go to the music shop to try it out. as im a beginner, im clueless about playing so i really dont know how to test how it sounds. Other people have told me to just try plucking the strings but i just dont know what to do to save myself from embarrasment. advice, please?
