YouTube comments not showing on Google+?

Since Google inconveniently decided to make everyone change their YouTube accounts and link them to Google+ just to be able to view and receive comments, I decided to do that because I couldn't see the comments on any videos. But now even with Google+ linked to my channel, I still can't view any comments on any YouTube video. what do I have to do to be able to see the comments and just have my account normal again? Also, an older YouTube account of mine which has a hotmail account is linked with Adsense with the same email, so would changing it all to a gmail account and changing to Google+ be risky? (Something might happen to my account if I change the old email to Google+)
