Ps3 laser compatibility?

I have a cechh model ps3 and a cech30xx ps3. I was wondering if I could take the laser off of the cechh model and put it on my cech30. The board is bad in the former and the laser is bad in the latter. Tried searching on google but I couldn't seem to find definitive results.
