How should I audition for The Drowsy Chaperone?
I am auditioning for a production of The Drowsy Chaperone in a few weeks, and I need some advice on what I should do for my audition. I plan on auditioning for the role of the drowsy chaperone. As of right now, the audition will be with sides and songs from the show. I plan on singing "As We Stumble Along," the Chaperone's "rousing anthem." What are some things I can do in my audition to make it stand out (both the song and the side)? In case the audition style changes and I need to sing a song from a different show, what recommendations do you have for songs that are fitting for the character of the Chaperone? Thanks for all of your help!
