Question #11700083

Bankruptcy help for mom?

A little background info: Okay, so i'm a senior in college, graduating next month in December. My mother lives three hours away from where I go to college with my dad, and two older sisters (25 and 28). No one in my family has a college education, my dad is a DEAD BEAT, and doesn't work, so my mother is slaving away at work trying to keep the bills paid. My sisters both work and give my mother a little money for the bills. My mom just had spinal surgery in May, and she is extremely stressed. She wants to kill herself, and she is to her breaking point. She has no one to help her, and I want to help her as much as I can, but i'm trying to finish my degree so that I can help her move away from my dad and sisters and start off fresh. My mom has tons of hospital bills and debt, so my question is, how can we go about bankruptcy for her? I know she will probably need to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but is there any other help anyone can offer? I'm trying to do well in college (which I am, and I just got a great job for after I graduate) but right now my hands are tied but I can't lose my mom, I just can't. I want to help her as much as I can, but I just don't know what to do. Please anyone have answers to how to go about bankruptcy? Do we need a lawyer? What happens to all her hospital bills? Should I move my mother away from my lazy, dead beat family? Please only serious answers, and thank you all so much.
