How to get rid of neck pain?
I have had severe neck pain for about 2 years now, and I went to see a chiropractor for a while, but I stopped because I didn't want to waste my parents money. The chiropractor used the electrical muscle stimulator on my neck, but the pain didn't really go away. It doesn't feel like joint or muscle pain. It feels more like a nerve pain. A sharp burning/ pinching sensation that comes in waves. It aches chronically but tends to flair up the most when I spend a long time with my neck bent, like when playing piano or reading. It also hurts if I do heavy lifting especially when carrying heavy trays of food at my waitressing job. I think something in my neck gets inflamed and presses against a nerve or something. So far the only thing that helps is aspirin. No other medications work, only aspirin, but I know its dangerous to take high amounts of aspirin over extended periods of time. That's why I'm looking for alternative methods to relieve the pain. Or better yet, to treat my neck pain entirely. My parents and I can't afford surgery, and I don't think a chiropractor will do more than waste my time and my money. It seems like surgery is my only option, but I'm too young to be having any surgery for this kind of thing. I'm only 18! Any ideas as to what this could be and how I can fix it?
