I hate my curly hair! permanent straightening?

I have dark brunette hair, which is fine but there is a lot of it. Anyway, its such a horrible mix of wavy and curls which go so wild and untameable when I leave it natural. I end up having to straighten my hair every day which is beginning to drive me mad! Does anybody know of any permanent straightening treatments or have any stories/advice? I'm desperate to have straight hair. Thank you
