What's the best gaming headset for under $50?

I've been using the Creative Fatal1ty gaming headset for a little over a year now, and it's decided to conk out. :/ So, either a good headset, or a good pair of headphones and a microphone. I'll be using them to record gameplay for Let's Plays, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance! :]
