What should I expect after my dog has puppies?

I just got an 8 month old chesapeake bay retriever and german long hair mix dog and it turns out she is pregnant(This happened to her before I got her) and I was going to have them aborted because I wasn't sure if it was safe at her age but the vet said she'll be fine she just might not take the best care of the puppies. So I guess my question is if I have to take care of the puppies for her are there special bottles and does the vet give you special formula? Is the formula super expensive? Can I force the mom to bond with her babies or will it make it worse? and just in case somebody is rude about how she needs to be spayed I plan on getting that done as soon as she's able along with her shots since none of her previous owners have done that.
