Question #11750302

have you had problems with Kaspersky and/or Computeractive magazine?

I downloaded one of Kaspersky's anti-virus products, and now wish I hadn't. I would like to hear from anybody else who is unhappy with this company (and Computeractive). Kaspersky is a good company, with an excellent reputation, and so is Computeractive magazine. So when I saw Computeractives special offer of Kaspersky software at a greatly reduced price, I thought it must be a bargain. But, once I had bought it, I found it extremely difficult to download, and when I finally succeeded I found it would not update - and updates are vital for this kind of software. Each time I tried, the update download stuck at 3%. I emailed Kaspersky. They refused me a refund, but said they would send me the software on a DVD disc. The disc never arrived. Then I emailed Computeractive, but received no reply. Can I make a claim under the UK's Distance Selling Regulations? The Kaspersky software is no good to me, and as they were so unhelpful I wouldn't deal with them again. If anybody out there has had something similar happen to them, I would be pleased to have any details.
