Can I cancel a Amazon pre order before it's despatched?

So I want to order a PS4 and I'm aware that it won't be sent out on release date but right now I don't have the money but I should have by next week. I want to order it now before the despatch day gets pushed even more, so main question can I order it now then cancel it if needed?
