why is love philosophical?

I am in phil1010 and my final says to pick an philosophical thing we want to talk about and prove. i want to prove that love is necessary and that love is not defined by gender, but by if what you feel for that person is true or not. inside the paper we must describe why the topic is philosophical so i can use a little help on that part.
