bleeding cartilage helix piercing?

i got my helix pierced. its my third time getting it pierced in that specific location. I am not a newbie to piercings (i have gotten my cartilage pierced eleven times). However, its been three days and all of a sudden i felt something dripping down my neck and my fresh piercing was gushing blood. I know i did not knock it or even touch it. I didnt sleep on it either. Ive been awake for approximately five hours so it couldnt have been because of sleeping on it (plus i dont sleep on my ears). Im sure its probably not anything serious, but im just curious. Is this normal? its the first time a piercing has ever gushed blood for me. thanks
