why my guy friend did those?

We met on the first day of school but doesn't talk a lot until last month. We know each other for almost a month now. We talk almost every day. Every time we see each other in the hallway, we hug. He hugs me and kiss on my cheek or forehead. And at lunch, when I talk to my friends and he comes to me then hugs me from behind. Sometimes, when he sits right next to me, he wraps his arms around my waist and holds me from behind for a while. We usually have our eye contacts for a bit long. He holds my hand sometimes. He tells me, "I love you." Was it just friendly gesture or something? ps. I'm a girl.
