Question #12300266

I messed up my first driving lesson?

and I feel really bad about it. I've only driven about an hour in total prior to this lesson so I'm obviously not the best yet. But I didn't think I'd be this bad :/ My weak spot is turning so he took me to a neighborhood in the next city over and I was doing a lot of turning and U turns and I was actually doing good and getting the hang of it. Then I turn, and there is a car parked in front of a house. I noticed I'm coming up behind it so I thought to myself "Oh lol, I should shift to the left." Then my instructor grabs the freaking steering wheel from me and starts screaming "BREAK!!!" and then boom >.< We nail the parked car. I was shocked because I thought I was okay and I had time to move and everything was fine but he grabbed the wheel seemingly out of nowhere and I froze up. I wasn't even the least bit concerned about hitting the car because I felt as though I had more than enough time to shift over but I guess I was wrong since my instructor obviously felt very strongly otherwise :c I knocked our headlight out and dented the lady's parked car. I feel so bad :c How can I feel better? Any tips on how to be able to turn better?
