Nexus 5 users - speaker loud enough?

I'm planning on buying a nexus 5 but from what I've heard is that the speaker on the Nexus 5 is not that loud because of some glue sitting in the way or something like that. Once I get the Nexus 5, is it worth modding it allowing the speakers to get louder?
