Question #12350036

Advice from pro drummers?

I'm a 20 year old male who has been drumming for 8 years. I have been gradually building a solid reputation as a local drummer over the last few years. Recently, I took a gig playing drum set with an orchestra and choir. This is unlike any musical setting I have played in before, and I have been very awkward and nervous around the other musicians. I am mostly coming off as inexperienced and unconfident to the people I have networked with at this gig and my playing has been below average. Although I am glad to have had this experience (and I've been inspired to practice more) do you think that I have hurt my reputation with this gig?
