What kind of headphones should I get ?

I want new headphones for this upcoming Christmas. I've been leaning more towards beats but I want headphones that are good to wear working out and to wear when I go out or relax at home. I don't want earbuds and idc the price really so are beats a good choice and if so which one or something else? Thanks in advance
