Can exposure to mold cause brain damage ?

The humidity in our apartment is little bit higher than normal, so I have mold in the corners of my windowed wall. The bed is on the opposite wall, but my desk is on the same one. So can exposure to mold cause brain damage, because I've read it could be irreversible. p.s. The mold is at the bottom of the corners and under the ledge of the window.
