Does he like me (sorry for asking this question!!!)?

Okay, so there's this guy that I kind of like. We talk everyday, but we aren't really close friends. He's a flirt, and he flirts with almost every girl, including me, but, I never took it seriously. Last week, my friend, my crush, and some other people were playing truth or dare. My friend said that he was dared to ask me out as a joke (I was in the same room just wasn't playing). He said no because he was "too scared" so he just did it to another girl who, I know for a fact, that he doesn't like in that way. So, I was thinking, why is it that someone who is not afraid to do that kind of stuff, no matter who the girl is, suddenly be afraid to do that to me. I know it's kind of pathetic that I have to ask this question online, but I have nowhere else to go. PS, You can be totally honest with me. If you don't think he likes me then you can say it, I don't mind/
