is it bad to look for specific things in a guy?

so im 16 and all my friends say I sound desperate for wanting so few things or so many things in a guy and that since I don't care about looks that much ( they have to be decent not hideous ) , have a job that could support a family, hold a conversation, be sweet and nice, and treat everyone with respect. all my friends say they want the perfect guy and they tell me im desperate and no one would want to marry me because I like these certain characteristics that a guy could have . I don't want to get married or have a boy friend till I graduate high school and maybe after I go to college but im not sure yet . is what I said sound desperate cause that's what people are telling me. some people even say I want to much in a guy are they right? please tell me
