My step daughter hits/fights her dad when she wants hug?

Hey all and thankyou for reading. Im not sure if anyone can answer this but im very interested in finding out why and how to change this issue. Right so my hubby hasnt got to see his daughter much due to her mother stopping contact or making it hard to have proper contact shes now 8yrs old and have had to fight thru court to have regular contact. We are now on our 2nd home contact since court order and have notice when she wants hugs and cuddles (to be close to him) she will do it thru fighting him. for example she just grabbed his arms wrapped them around her then started to hit him but still wanted his arms around her. Or he was sitting down and she come along sat pritty much on his lap but his arms around her then she started to punch him in the head! It looks as if she wants the closeness of cuddles etc but some reason she may feel guilty or something? she also has been chasing her little brother around asking him to give her cuddles not sure if thats relevant but wud love to no why she would feel the need to hurt me all the time even when we just trying to play with her she will hurt him. She not like that with me or her 2 brothers and we dont no what shes like at home as we get very little insight to her home life. Any suggestions or advice would be gratefull
