Are feminine zodiac signs more compatible with masculine zodiac signs and vice versa?

So would an aries (masculine) be better for a scorpio (feminine) than a scorpio would be for a taurus (feminine) and that a scorpio would be better for aries than say another masculine sign (aquarius)? Or are two feminine signs and two masculine signs together better?
