How to get rid of the Ring Of Death on an Xbox 360 disc?

I'm looking for some tips and advice on how to get rid of the Ring Of Death on my new Call Of Duty: Ghosts game I JUST got for Christmas. I was plugging in my controller and put my hand on top of the console and I heard this weird noise in my Xbox and my disc had the Ring Of Death. If anyone could please tell me how to get that off, I will be very grateful. Thanks.
