How do I earn trophies on PS3 games on different profiles?

I played Tales of Xillia on my UK account but the game is American. I learned (the hard way) I had to make a US account in order to get the DLC. So I made a US account and saved it on my PS3 and now I have to play the game from the very beginning but trophies are not being earned. What do I do? Please help.
