How to get shoe smell out of boots?

I bought my boots last winter and now they are offically starting to smell awful. They have faux fur inside and Im pretty sure they are not suitable for the washer/dryer. I love these boots and paid quiet a bit so I would hate to throw them out. Any ideas how to get the smell out?
