How can you make a living by being a drummer?

I'm a drummer and really want to peruse it....I would love to get in a good band that will last a while, but fining good bands are kinda hard because I am very picky with music and I bet the fans would be too. Any advice will be appreciated :D thanks! And I'm a girl ( I hate pop and country ) I meant career...
