How can i keep are relationship the same?

My boyfriend and i have been dating for over a year now, i recently had to move to cali with my mom and hes back home in fl, we decided to stay together and have a long distance relationship, i was out in fl for a month and i spent every minute with him while i was there. Im now back in cali with my mom and i really want to keep the relationship him and i have. Hes the only person who really seems to be there for me and sometimes i worry if were doing the right thing. He's going to fly out here during his spring break in March to see me but i will still be in school i get out at 3 and then a few hours later it will be dark so its not like we can really go out much... I just dont know if were doing the right thing anymore
