How to be less nervous around her?

Theres this girl that i like. I met up with her once at school and i was nervous so i didnt say much which made things awkward for us both. Im also quiet which had something to do with it. Also when im around her i get shy as she knows i like her. How can be less nervous and shy around her and speak more so things arent awkward again
