Pins and needles in the middle of the night?

So I am aware of what I do during the night, whenever I sleep or my body says I'm asleep but my eyes are awake, I notice that my hand gets pins and needles, I don't lay on my hand but my hand is under my chin like when you're thinking about someone, it takes probably like 3 or 4 mins for the pins and needles to go, but why does it happen? After my hand is sore because the way it was bent.
