Is it OK to meet up with a friend of an ex?

I asked wrongly the first question... It is a question about meeting up a friend of an ex. Is it OK? How would he feel if he find out, I just don't want to make him feel uncomfortable, but maybe I am simply worried to much. What are your thoughts?
