what do you think of my friend who goes "dutch" on the first date?

He thinks its not worth it to spend on girls he barely knows and since nowadays men and women are equal, why should he be the one to spend? He is also considered really good looking and so half the time the girls are the one coercing them to ask him out. To be fair going dutch is good for the girls since they are ones who is asking him out or atleast its that way.
