What age should girls start wearing thongs?

I've asked my mother for thongs and she told me absolutely not. That was when I was 14. So i stopped talking about them cause i didnt want to cause a huge fight. So what I did was, I ordered them on amazon, and they are now being shipped to my house lol. I did it in a way so she would never find out. And no I cant just go out and buy thongs with my friends because my mom always finds a way to look at what I bought. She snoops through my bags and one time she found a thong and I got in big trouble for it. I'm now 16 and would like to wear thongs because im tired of embaressing underwear lines. I just want thongs for me and only me. And i ordered them so i am going to say they are christmas presents so my mom doesnt ever look! What age do girls/teens start wearing thongs cause im tired of this. My friends got their first thongs at 12.
