I had to give my cat a shot at home and she didnt react well?

I did what I was told, pulled the plunger back to check for blood and there was none, she had no issues until the fluid was actually injected in her, she started hissing and rolling and screaming. She ran around the entire house and is now very hyperactive. I know I didn't hit a blood vessel so what happened???
