Question #15018178

Car overheating?

My 2004 Honda Civic is constantly overheating especially when idle but also sometimes overheats while driving but slowly climbs back down when it's moving. Is there any suggestions or quick fixes? What could it possibly be? I have a new radiator waiting ton replace the one that's currently in my car, just waiting for a cousin that's a mechanic to put it in for me and I have also talked to a local mechanic and he said that it's not common for the water pump to go bad because the civics have a metal crank or something that has to do with the pump as opposed to most other cars that use plastic ones of the crank or whatever and that that is the reason for water pumps to go bad, which is when they crack. Anyways, I was wondering if there is any quick fix it methods I could use to delay the constant overheating until the radiator is put in if that's even the case. Thank you all in advance. Any help is much appreciated.
