Maxtor Hard Drive Issue - Help!?
We have more than one computer and one we don't use too often started having problems so we wanted to get the data off...it would keep saying "scanning Drive E:/ and it would take hours to get into windows. We tried disconnecting each drive one by one, but long story short we can't really get into windows. Anyway, we decided to take each hard drive out and put it into my I7 and attach it to my HD as a secondary drive. Was able to get the data off of one of them. I am trying now on Maxtor 3.5 Series code YAR511WO(or 0). When I connected a couple other drives as secondary, they are listed in boot and in BIOS. But on both computers, when I attach the Maxtor as a secondary drive, my actual main HD disappears until I disconnect the Maxtor which I don't get. it keeps saying a few seconds after restarting "To boot to the IBM Rescue and Recovery Environment, Press F11" ...when I do that it talks about DAL.dll being missing and just keeps restarting the computer with the same message. one is giving me such a hard time. I know it's not under warranty but please help.
