Trying to find a book?

I think it was either a kid's book or a teenagers book. Some of the characters, a certain family was named after a family. The girl found out she was adopted by her aunt (I think it was her aunt), that she wasn't actually her mother and wanted to find out where her mom was and why she didn't keep her. I think she and her friend ended up going on a trip or something (this part is vague for me). Where they try and find the girl's mother. Any help in finding the book would be great, I'd love it if someone could think of the name. It's been years since I read it.
