Why coudnt ancient people do good art?

Paint realistically? Did Aliens do something to our brains in the past so that we could do more advance creations as well as more realistic drawings and paintings etc. You gotta admit. Just look at the ancient cave art and ancient paintings. They kinda of really failed.
