Any tips or tricks to help my retainer hurt less?

i just got my braces off a few days ago and now have my wonderful retainer... it hurts soooo bad it’s ao uncomfortable and makes my teeth super sore. anyone have any tips to help my teeth survive this or am i just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it?
