Can I repierce my lip piercing?

I’ve had my lip pierced for about a week now.So the ball on my stud fell off and I ended up having to take out my stud because I couldn’t get another one. It’s been between 12 and 24 hours since I’ve taken it out and it’s closed up. Would I be able to just get a new stud and shove it back through and repierce it like that?i do it with my ear all the time without any problems and I just wanna know if it would be the same thing with a lip?
