Can you return a hard drive to newegg for free if it had bad packaging?

I know that normally with newegg to return something you have to buy a shipping label which is supposedly around 10-11$. But I believe that's only for RMA's. So I wonder could I return my package to newegg for free with them supplying me a shipping label or would I still have to pay for it? Here's how my hard drive was packaged: Hd put into anti static bag then put into two black end hard drive holders( the ones that keep the hard drive centered, I'm not sure what their called) and then put in a small cardboard box, but one of the black hd end holders is actually squished like a lot of force was put on it or something.? That's basically how they packaged it and if I do send it back what would they do about it just send me a new hard drive better packaged?? I appreciate any feedback thank you for your time.
