How can I record gameplay and commentary from my PS3 and put it on my laptop?
I have found YouTube videos explaining how I can transfer PS3 gameplay footage directly to my laptop with the use of audio/video cables, splitters, etc., but the problem is that I want to simultaneously play a video game on my PS3 while also commentating on it (similar to how the YouTube channels, PewDiePie and UhOhBro do theirs, except with just my voice). I really cannot afford to buy a Dazzle (which would still not work for commentary). It should be noted that my PS3 is hooked up, through a switcher (so that I can switch between video /audio from my PS3 and video/audio for my satellite TV) using component cables, not HDMI (since my TV does not have an HDMI input). My TV can be used as a second 'monitor' for my laptop, but I'm not sure that helps. Now, a couple of ideas have ran through my head as to how I could at least get the gameplay footage on my laptop, so I thought I would ask about them here: Would it be possible to get an HDMI cord, run it from my PS3 to my laptop, and record gameplay video to my laptop in that fashion? What about using a USB cord? As far as the commentary portion of it goes, I have a Wireless PS3 Stereo Headset (the newest PS3 headset made by Sony) that I can use for my PS3 or my laptop. I know this been kind of a jumble of ramblings and thinking out loud, but is there any way to simultaneously record gameplay video with commentary from my PS3 to my laptop?
