Question #4627448

How can I get my blue heeler puppy to stop biting/growling?

A couple weeks ago I adopted a puppy at a rescue, they had originally told me he was an australian shepherd puppy, when I first saw him he was 5 weeks old. His mother died giving birth to him and all his litter mates died he was the only survivor. Turns out they were wrong about the breed my vet said he is actually a blue heeler/ pit mix. He is now 10 weeks old, I adopted him at 8. He has been socialized with other puppies at the rescue before I adopted him. Thing is, his biting/growling habits are getting worse, I understand he's probably teething but he has lots of chew toys for that how can I get him to stop biting PEOPLE and clothing? Any training tips for a heeler pit bull mix? I was not expecting this breed of dog but I will not give him up I want to learn what to do to make him a good dog.
