How can I want for someone I like to be with someone like me?

The thing is, that if you should be with someone (as partners), it is obvious that you would want the best for your partner, because you like/love him/her. But how could I want my partner to be with me, if he/she has so many better opportunities to find happiness? And yes, this is written by someone who is not ok in his head. The outcome would be, that you can only be with someone you don't like, and whom you do not wish the best life. But that is just ridiculous, of course. So...Again...Can I want for someone to be with me? Even thou its clear that I can not bring him/her proper happiness? Thank you in forward for considerate answers
