Why does my laptop crash when i turn it up?

When i turn on my laptop explorer.exe doesn't respond when i restart it it again doesn't respond and then it ends at all. I continue using my pc with object dock and task manager but how am i supposed to stop the crashes? I don't prefer formatting my pc because i formatted it last month.
