Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 for Weddings?

I shoot with a Nikon D5100 and am looking into purchasing my first lens (aside from the kit lens of course). I am on a budget. The only telephoto lens I can afford right now is the 55-200mm lens, and I have shot one wedding before with a 18-55mm and a borrowed Canon Rebel and 70-300mm. I have just read that the 55-200mm is "horrible", "terrible", etc. for weddings and I'd like some input. And *please*, If you're going to be sarcastic, rude, or "more-professional-than-thou", go somewhere else. I am looking for honest answers and opinions, not your mean remarks. *THANKS!*
