What is wrong with my gsd?

He is a 2 yr old gsd! He is panting a lot, eating less and drooling a lot, and his tongue is a bit darker! The vet gave him a shot for fever yestday! But not much improvement! What has happened to him? What should I feed him? What more care should I take?
